DMT Designs Dynamic Online Training for Mentors

In 2009 and 2010, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) awarded grants to more than 100 programs to focus mentoring efforts on reducing juvenile delinquency. To support mentoring programs, the agency established The Center for the Advancement of Mentoring (TCAM) as a central point for resources, training opportunities, and consultation to grantees. The Center for the Advancement of Mentoring is run through a partnership between Dare Mighty Things and the Education Development Center (EDC).

TCAM benefits from DMT's extensive experience with mentoring programs applied in direct consultation with grantees, training delivery, and e-learning development. DMT provides direct support to thirty-two grantees, while a series of e-learning lessons are publically available to all OJJDP grantees, as well as the entire mentoring community. These e-learning lessons will be used to help support mentor training at hundreds of mentoring programs working to transform the lives of youth at risk for delinquency.

DMT's E-Learning Combines Subject Matter Expertise with Technical Know-How

E-learning saves time and travel costs without sacrificing the quality of the learning experience. It has become an integral part of many of our clients’ blended learning programs that combine online and in-person training.

Dare Mighty Things combines our clients’ and our consultants’ deep subject matter knowledge with our in-house design and technology expertise to create dynamic, self-guided e-learning lessons. E-learning can be posted on a website, provided on CDs or DVDs, or integrated into a learning management system to meet more robust tracking and evaluation needs.

We create opportunities for practical application, incorporating activities, quizzes, video, audio, and text. Learners can navigate freely through an e-learning lesson, setting their own pace and revisiting chapters and activities as they see fit, while our clients can be assured that learners have access to consistent and robust content.
